Honor the Journey
Another trip around the sun, and what amazing things we’ve seen on the journey. It’s strange how last December feels simultaneously like it was yesterday and like it was decades ago. It feels important to honor the journey, the year that I’ve had, that Athletes for Yoga has had, and the people who have helped make it possible. There are no small years, and the “hard” goes hand in hand with “good,” but the 2016 Athletes for Yoga highlight reel is a good one!
Athletes for Yoga Video
We added 6 new video collections including more than 40 new routines designed to help you become more balanced and resilient. Adoption of our videos has soared and feedback has been amazing. Seeing how you use Athletes for Yoga in your real life, is an honor and inspiration. Big thank you to our filmmakers at Wilderness Media and Athletes for Yoga’s photographer Claire Pepper.
HIT RESET book
I was thrilled to release my first book, HIT RESET: Revolutionary Yoga for Athletes. This book has been in my mind and heart for a long time, so it has been really exciting to get it into your hands to help you become more aware of your imbalances and ease them. A huge thank you to the team at VeloPress for believing in the power of this book to change the game.
Team Athletes for Yoga
We are always on the lookout for new Athletes for Yoga coaches and were honored to have two new teammates join us this year: Alison Marra and Kayla Robertson. Read their bios here. It was also a huge win to have fastie Sarah “Mac” Robinson join us behind the scenes helping with social media and this and that — welcome, homegirls!
USA Track & Field Trials
In early summer, we had the amazing opportunity to travel to Eugene with our apparel sponsor, Oiselle. Of course I couldn’t have done it without colleague B Sweeney (and baby Rose!). It was so inspiring to witness athletes literally run their hearts out and have the opportunity to help many Hit Reset at daily outdoor studio sessions. Let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the Oiselle section of Hayward when Kate Grace made the Olympic team! Thanks to our homegirls at Oiselle for making Athletes for Yoga part of your family.
Athletes for Yoga Clinics
Our gals Bree Dillon and B Sweeney lead two Athletes for Yoga Clinics in Seattle. Proud to say this is the only yoga for athletes training of its kind. Stay tuned for lots more ops to train with us in 2017!
Athletes for Yoga has an important mission: to help athletes use yoga to achieve their goals. I feel more energized and committed to this mission than ever before, and get goosebumps thinking about the big goals I’ve set for Athletes for Yoga in 2017. Get ready for (spoiler alert!) more videos, another book, training + certification, and plenty of #yogaforreal.
More than anything, I want to thank you, and hope you’ll continue your journey with us by becoming an Athlete for Yoga in the year ahead. Be sure to subscribe for news and updates. We’re @athletesforyogaHQ (and I’m @erinjasyoga) on Twitter and Instagram. Would love to hear from you!
