Sit comfortably. Sit in a chair or lean against a wall if that feels most comfortable.
Fold your right pinky finger and its neighbor into your palm, leaving your thumb, index, and middle finger free. Rest your left palm in your lap.
Take a deep breath in… a slow breath out…
Cover your right nostril with your thumb and slowly inhale through your left nostril…
Close your left nostril with your free fingers and pause…
Remove your thumb and slowly exhale through your right nostril…
Keeping your left side closed, inhale through the right side…
Close the right side with your thumb and pause…
Open your left side and exhale to complete one round.
Continue for slowly for 5–10 rounds.
Finally, release your right hand to your lap and take a couple of deep steady breaths, noticing the difference in your mental state. Choose for that feeling to set the tone...
